Seperated At Birth

Continuing from the last post, we find our unwitting bystander adrift in a sea of unknown faces. Working in a kitchen where the only person that he has had any real contact with vanished off the face of the earth less than a week after he started...

So in the week before he left, Fulman had kind of elevated me from Dishwasher to Dishwasher/Prep Cook which happens fairly often in a business such as Catering that has an alarmingly high turnover rate. I figured that I had to play it by ear to see what would happen to my job title when they decided on a new Head Cook. Luckily(or unfortunately I have never decided which) Bob,the guy they got to replace Fulman, liked me and since there was a dearth of barely competent help(competent help being near non-existent) he took me into prepping full-time.

Bob was a nice fellow for being a twitchy, paranoid coke head. He probably lasted there for about a month after being promoted so there is not much to tell about poor Bob. Well, there was one strange little quirk about Bob. See, once upon a time at the Catering Company, there was a Head Chef named Mike Dendorff. Bob and Dendorff had a few things in common. Almost identical in height, weight, body type and hair style(the smooth-bald-top-edged-out-with-some tufts-of-fuzz-above-the-ears hair style that I am trying so desperately to bring back into fashion) they could have been twins except for Bob having brown hair and a little mustache Dendorff having red hair and this amazingly huge and bushy mustache.

Fantastic facial hair on Dendorff, the type of stache that you could hide a pork chop in for later.

Then there was the similarity of holding the same job at different times. They never worked there together, but there was one other thing they had in common that caused them to know each other. Turns out that Bob was married to Dendorff's Ex-Wife. She traded the Alcoholic Model in for the Coke Fiend Deluxe.

I guess she had a thing for short and burly bald guys.

God bless all those women who do.
